Salted cucumber is the favorite appetizer in Russia. Every Russian family has its own recipe of salted cucumbers. Homemade salted cucumbers are different from the store pickles. They don’t contain vinegar and have a mild flavor. They also have a little salt. My recipe of salted cucumbers is very simple. Your cucumbers will be ready after 1-2 days. For this recipe you need a large airtight plastic container.
- 1 kg cucumbers
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 small bunch of fresh dill, chopped
- 5 garlic cloves, chopped
- 1Wash the cucumbers and cut off the ends of cucumbers. Pierce with a knife each cucumber. Put the cucumbers in a large airtight container.
- 2Add the garlic, salt, sugar and dill. Close the container and shake it for 1 minute. This is necessary to mix all the ingredients together. Place the container in the refrigerator for 1-2 days.
- 3You can keep the cucumbers in this container during 5-6 days.
