Pichi-Pichi is a gelatinous dessert (this can be also eaten as a heavy mid-afternoon snack) made from grated cassava and sugar. The concoction is placed in a mold and steamed until a sticky gelatinous texture is formed. After steaming, this is coated with grated coconut for additional flavor.
Ingredients
- 1.Ground Cassava
- 2.Lye Water
- 3.Water
- 4.Sugar
- 5.Margarine
- 6.Cheese
- 7.Powdered Milk
Directions
- 1In a big bowl, mix the ground cassava together with the lye water.
- 2Put the sugar. Mix it together.
- 3Put a right amount of water. Mix.
- 4Lastly will be the powdered milk.
(Remember: You have to mix gently the combined ingredients to come with a good colored - product.) - 5Set aside the combined ingredients. Prepare the cups.
- 6Brush on the cups with the combined margarine to avoid sticky.
- 7Pour the combined ingredients to the cups.
- 8Put in the steamer.
- 9After 30 minutes check the Pichi-pichi.
- 10Prepare your product. Set the Pichi-pichi using the spoon.
- 11When pichi-pichi is cooled, add some grated cheese on top.
- 12Ready to serve.
