We call this food ''Gjevrekë'' in our Albanian language. And here is the recipe for it.
- 2 eating spoons yeast
- salt and sugar
- sesame seeds
- black seeds (optional)
- 1Put the yeast in a container with a little water and 1 tablespoon of sugar and leave it approximately 10-15 minutes to swell slightly.
- 2Then add 2 cups water, 1 tablespoon of salt and 1 cup oil. Add the flour as needed until it formed a homogeneous measure (just like pizza dough) and let the dough double it size for 40 minutes to 1 hour.
- 3Since the dough doubles, divide into small pieces (small balls). Varnish hands with a little oil and each piece dilute in the form of a ''strip'' (not too thin). We unite both sides of ''strip'' and we finally make a circular form.
- 4So proceed with all the pieces of dough and at the end varnish with the yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds and black seeds (black seeds are optional). Let's not forget that in the baking pan that pretzels will bake, add baking letter and varnish with a little oil. Bake for 20 minutes at a temperature of 200 degrees.
