When you walk the streets early morning without the sweet aroma of Kosé from a porridge seller, then you are not in Ghana. Kosé is highly packed with protein, fat and oil and good minerals that help you grow healthy and strong. Due to its ingredients and ease of preparation, everyone one likes it especially children and vegetarians.

Ingredients

  • 1 margarine tin of cowpea
  • 2 liters of water
  • 1 egg (optional)
  • 1(1/2) tea spoon of powdered pepper
  • 1 big bulb of onion
  • 1 table spoon of flour (optional)
  • 2 tea spoon full of salt to taste
  • Vegetable Cooking Oil (Non-cholesterol)

Directions

  • 1Wash and soak cowpea in water with 1 liter water or more to make soft
  • 2Drain water from cowpea and grind smooth, no addition of water
  • 3Set oil on fire to start heating (deep frying)
  • 4Add half grinned onion, pepper and salt to paste
  • 5Whisk paste with egg and flour all together
  • 6Deep fry paste in bits in hot oil till golden brown
  • 7Allow to cool a little and serve warm
