Yesterday, I was asked to baby sit my two adorable, hyper cousins, ages 5 and 7. Alisse and Faith. Since I was caught – off guard with their arrival at my house. My stock of food supplies were almost out. I wanted to go out to do my grocery but these two are a handful. (I remember when I was with them in a grocery store, Alisse went on apple-biting spree). Although my Aunt brought food with them, they eat like a 20 year old would do. And they are hungry almost every hour. So when the snack time came, I had to search every cup boards I have to make them something to eat.

These two asked for something sweet.

Chocolate Crinkles

Good thing is that, I have flour, butter, eggs, chocolates and such that are good for baking chocolate crinkles. This recipe I am sharing with you is easy, cheap and can be done with the littlest of effort and time. Just make sure that the flour or the ingredients are out of reach of children. The recipe is easy to follow. So yeah, enjoy baking!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsaltened, butter
  • 2 ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 8 pieces raw egg
  • 2 tbsp of vanilla
  • 8 ounce chocolate, melted
  • 1 ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 cup confectioners’ sugar

Directions

  • 1Preheat oven to 350 F.
  • 2Using an electric mixer, in a bowl cream the butter.
  • 3Add granulated sugar by whisking it in the mixture. Mix it for another 2 minutes.
  • 4Add the cocoa powder and melted chocolate of your choice.
  • 5Put the eggs and vanilla. Mix until fluffy.
  • 6Add all the remaining dry ingredients: flour, salt and baking powder. Continue using the electric mixer until evenly mixed.
  • 7Cover the mixing bowl with cling wrap and refrigerate for 2-3 hours.
  • 8After allowing it to stand in the refrigerator, remove the wrap and start molding. Roll the mixture into your palm until the shape becomes spherical, flatten it a bit to achieve the shape of the usual crinkles.
  • 9Roll it into a plate of confectioners’ sugar
  • 10Bake into preheated oven for 10 – 15 minutes
  • 11Allow to cool down.
  • 12Put into a platter. Serve and enjoy! You can also try putting it into the refrigerator and enjoy it a bit chilled.
