A delicious recipe of chicken curry, that is made with classic Indian spices. I like to make mine mild, but you can adjust the fire to your palate. It's good to cook the chicken separately and then add it to the base allowing the rich flavours to seep through.

Indian Chicken Curry with Potatoes Recipe

Ingredients

  • 500g chicken
  • 2 large potatoes
  • Glass of frozen peas
  • The paste
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 cm of ginger
  • 0,5 tbls turmeric
  • 1 tbls cumin seeds
  • 2 tbls curry powder
  • 1/4 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbls dried cilantro
  • Olive oil
  • 2 tomatoes, blended
  • Chilli flakes
  • Salt

Directions

  • 1In a saucepan, heat the olive oil and fry onion until translucent. Add the ginger, garlic and continue cooking another 3 minutes. Add curry paste and fry for 2 minutes to allow the spices to release their flavour.
  • 2Add cumin seeds, curry paste, turmeric, cinnamon, chili flakes, salt, dried cilantro, and fry for 3-4 minutes to allow the spices to release their flavour.
  • 3Add chicken to the separate pan and brown it.
  • 4Stir the chicken, blended tomatoes, peas, and potatoes into the mixture.
  • 5Simmer for 20-25 mins. Serve immediately!
