Shishito Pepper is a sweet, east Asian variety of Capsicum. It is small, finger long and looks very similar to a green chilli. It is harvested green but turns red upon ripening. Today I bring for you Simple Shishito Peppers. A dish easily prepared in 5 minutes and serves as an excellent tang for the tongue. It can be served as a sider and bit off with every bite to add the spice in your main dish. It is easy to prepare and enhances the spice in food.
Ingredients
- ½ pound shishito or padron peppers
- 1 T olive oil
- Flakey salt
Directions
- 1Heat a cast iron or heavy bottomed pan to medium high. Add the olive oil. When the oil is hot add the peppers and fry until the skin of the peppers is blistered, turning occasionally, about 4-5 minutes.
- 2Remove from heat and season generously with flakey salt.
