Bhatoora is a fluffy deep-fried  bread . It is often eaten with chickpea curry or chole  making the traditional dish chole bhatoore. Puri is made from whole wheat flour . In other hand, Bhatoora is made of a all purpose flour (maida) and deep fried just like puri. Puri can be made instantly but the other has to be fermented. The size of the bhatoora served in restaurants is huge but homemade once are smaller because we dont have such big kadais. My bhatoora recipe has wheat flour also trying to make it a little healthier. Do try it with my creamy chickpeas, you will love every bite of it. Do leave a feed back.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 2 cups maida
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 and half cups yogurt
  • 1 tbs semolina
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Water to knead

Directions

  • 1Mix all the above ingredients one by one except oil and make soft dough by adding water as much required ,keep kneading it for 5 minutes cover and keep aside for minimum 6 hours for fermentation.
  • 2Once done knead it again and make small balls and start rolling to form puris of your desired size according to your kadai size and deep fry it . Your oil should be nicely hot so that all bhaturas nicely puff up instantly and dont absorb oil. Once puffed turn them over and fry for a couple of minutes till golden. Remove them in a absorbent paper to remove excess oil. Serve them hot with creamy chana .
