Mutton chops are always a favourite item in  my dinning table . I have two different recipes to make them, one is tandoori chops and the other is pepper chops. Today i am sharing tandoori chops recipe. I usually bring Indian mutton chops but since they dont have much meat in them neither they look appealing so this time i bought Australian mutton chops which had a good amount of meat and looked appealing. You can also use beef chops . I got this recipe from food fusion which i really liked.

Ingredients

  • Mutton chops ½ kg
  • Onion chopped 1 small
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 and half tbsp
  • 1/2tsp salt
  • Haldi 1/2tsp
  • Water 1 and half cups
  • Coriander powder 1/2tbsp
  • Red chilli powder 1tsp
  • 1/2tsp garam masala powder
  • Nutmeg powder 1/4tsp
  • 1/4tsp zeera powder
  • 1 tbsp green chilli paste
  • Lemon juice1 tbsp
  • 1 /2 cup yogurt
  • Coriander leaves chopped
  • Tandoori masala 1 tbsp
  • Oil 3tbsp
  • Charcoal 1 pc

Directions

  • 1In pot,add mutton chops, onion, ginger garlic paste, salt, turmeric powder and water, mix well and bring it to boil, cover and cook on low flame for 25-30 minutes or until tender then cook on high flame until dries up. Let it cool down.
  • 2In bowl,add coriander powder,red chilli powder,garam masala powder,nutmeg powder, cumin seeds,green chilli paste,lemon juice,yogurt,fresh coriander,tandoori masala and mix well.

Add cooked mutton chops and coat well, cover and marinate for 30 minutes.

In frying pan,add cooking oil, marinated mutton chops with remaining marinade, cover and cook on medium low flame for 5 minutes then cook uncovered from both sides until golden brown. Now to give a smoky tandoori effect burn a carcoal till fully hot. With a help of a tong place it in a small steel bowl and pour oil on it. Im close the lid so that all the smoke gets infused in the chops.. serve with lemon wedges
