As i was thinking which would be my first recipe ..which would surely be something sweet as all things begin with something sweet as per tradition . My thoughts came and stuck to my favourite wheat ladoo....my kids literally beg me to make these for them and i divide it between all of them so that they dont fight later telling the other has eaten more ...its a very easy and tasty ladoo with very basic ingredients found in every home ...here i will not forget to mention that i learnt this ladoo from a neighbour who later turned out to be my very good friend ..Smitha hegde....i really miss u ...specially when i relish these ladoos...i hope u get to read this one day..

Ingredients

  • Wheat flour-1 cup
  • Melted ghee- 1/2 cup
  • Powdered Sugar- 1/4 cup (or more)
  • Cardamom powder-1/4 tsp
  • Chopped cashew nuts 2 tbsp (fried in ghee till golden)

Directions

  • 1Preparation:
    Dry roast wheat flour on low flame for about 15 to 20 minutes until slightly changing it's color. (by stirring continuously)
    Add melted ghee and keep stirring;by breaking the lumps. Then the flour turns to be golden brown and aromatic. (the flame must be low).
    Switch off the flame and allow to cool little.
    Add powdered sugar, chopped cashews and cardamom powder; mix well.
    Make small laddoo's out of it still warm.
    Allow to cool completely. At this stage u might find it oily but relax it will absorb the ghee after 2 to 4 hrs ...you can store them in an air tight container about one week at room temperature.
    Note; pls make sure you powder the sugar otherwise you will end up getting granules when you eat it .
