Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked chick peas
  • 1 cup cooked beans
  • 2 carrots thinly grated
  • 1 red onion chopped, 3 cloves garlic crushed
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1 scotch bonnet pepper de-seeded and thinly chopped
  • 1/2 tsp cumin, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 Tbsp fresh thyme, 1 Tbs olive oil, 1 Tbsp coconut oil

Directions

  • 1Heat oil in a pan and saute garlic, red and green onions then add salt and set aside
  • 2Mash the beans and chick peas in a mixing bowl to get a crumbly texture
  • 3Add all the ingredients to the mashed beans, combine well cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes
  • 4Heat the oven to medium high
    Divide the bean mixture into 8 patties or your desired size
    Lightly dust both sides with flour and transfer to an oiled backing tray.
    Bake 10 minutes on both sides
    serve with a crisp salad or as a burger
