Ingredients
- 1 cup cooked chick peas
- 1 cup cooked beans
- 2 carrots thinly grated
- 1 red onion chopped, 3 cloves garlic crushed
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions
- 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
- 1 scotch bonnet pepper de-seeded and thinly chopped
- 1/2 tsp cumin, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 Tbsp fresh thyme, 1 Tbs olive oil, 1 Tbsp coconut oil
Directions
- 1Heat oil in a pan and saute garlic, red and green onions then add salt and set aside
- 2Mash the beans and chick peas in a mixing bowl to get a crumbly texture
- 3Add all the ingredients to the mashed beans, combine well cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes
- 4Heat the oven to medium high
Divide the bean mixture into 8 patties or your desired size
Lightly dust both sides with flour and transfer to an oiled backing tray.
Bake 10 minutes on both sides
serve with a crisp salad or as a burger
