This recipe for a healthy, refreshing ginger drink from West Africa can be enjoyed either summer or winter, and is an excellent flu helper.
Ingredients
- 8 hot ginger roots (i used the one from Africa)
- 1 tbsp cloves
- 2 lemon
- 4 limes
- 2 1/2 cups of sugar
- 3 cups of water
Directions
- 1Wash leaving the skin on, chop the ginger into small pieces.
- 2In a blender, put ginger, cloves and add enough water to be able to blend it.
- 3Strain the mixture through a sieve into a bowl or a large jar and squeeze remaining juice from the pulp.
- 4Squeezed the lime and lemon and mix it in the ginger drink together with the sugar. Mix using a spatula or a spoon until the sugar is dissolved.
- 5You can also add a pineapple juice to give you a different taste.
- 6You can transfer your drink into a bottle or a plastic bottle and placed it into the fridge to keep it cool.
- 7I always make my ginger drink rich and sweet like grenadine.
- 8Pour a half glas of ginger drink, add ice cubes and water to make a full glas. Enjoy
