Achar gosht is a popular dish of the indian subcontinent. Its spicy, tangy, pickled curry would rock your taste buds. I used to make it with ready made packet masala few years back. But now I use my own spices to make this for special occasions. The pickle spices and the aroma of achar gosht will make your loved ones tummy roll.

In a wok, saute blended onions, garlic and ginger in oil.

Crush cumin seeds, black pepper, mustard seeds, fennel seeds and coriander seeds.

Add the crushed spices, cinnamon stick, black seeds, salt and meat into the wok. Mix in the blended tomatoes and cook for 30 mins or more till the meat is ready.

Achari (pickled) mutton

Pour lemon juice and add green chillis. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves. Serve hot with naan. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 700 g mutton/ chicken pieces
  • 2 medium sized onions blended into paste
  • 4 tomatoes blended
  • 1 tsp garlic chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger chopped
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp whole black pepper
  • 1 tsp whole corriander seeds
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp black seeds
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp fennel seeds
  • 4 green chillis slit
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Fresh corriander leaves for garnishing
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • 1 1/4 tsp salt

Directions

  • 1In a wok, saute blended onions, garlic and ginger in oil on medium flame till they turn transparent.
  • 2In a mortar and pestle, crush cumin seeds, fennel seeds, black pepper, mustard seeds and corriander seeds.
  • 3Add the above spices, black seeds, cinnamon stick, salt into the wok. Toss in meat and tomatoes. Cover the lid and let it cook for abt 30 mins or more on low flame till the meat is ready.
  • 4Mix in green chillis and lemon juice. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves. Serve hot with naan/ roti. Enjoy!

Here we created a new video Mutton Leg fired and cooked.
Ingredients are :
mutton leg - 1.1kg
ginger,garlic paste - 2 tsp
garam masala - 2tsp
red chilli powder - 2 tsp
pepper powder - 2tsp
chicken masala - 2tsp
turmeric powder - 2tsp
lemon - 2
coconut oil - 2 hand
aluminium foil - 1 role
parotta - 4 pieces

Apply the gredients like masala's and lemon in to mutton and wrap the mutton pieces with parotta in to banana leaf and followed by
wrap it with aluminium foil. Then heat it in fire for 2hrs, one side after another. Then unwrapped it, The Mutton Leg cooked nicely and you can see the video,
it shows the bone without flushes. If get a chance Dont forget to Try it.
