Who cannot get excited over a good burger? Millions do and making your own burger is about as best as it gets. You know what is inside the burger and better still you decide on the ingredients. Served with eggplant fries, to vary the forever potato fries this recipe is indeed a feast to savor

Serve with a dip of your liking. (Dip is not included in the macros.)

Ingredients

  • 600 gr (1 ¼ lbs) minced beef
  • 12 pcs big size Shi-take mushrooms (chopped)
  • 450 gr (1 pound) eggplant (cut into fries sticks)
  • 60 gr (2 tbsp) chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 60 gr (2 tbsp) olive oil
  • Sea salt / Cracked black pepper

Directions

  • 1Combine the minced meat with salt, pepper, chopped onion, mushrooms and garlic. Mix well and allow resting for 15 minutes in the fridge.
  • 2Slice the eggplant lengthwise in ½ cm (1/4 inch) thick slices, make the slices about 10 cm (2 ½ inch) in length and slice them in fries shape. Sprinkle with the turmeric powder and mix well.
  • 3Form 4 patties from the minced beef
  • 4Heat the olive oil on a griddle to high heat and fry the patties 3 to 4 minutes on each side, time depends on how well you like them cooked.
  • 5Meanwhile heat an oven to 200 Celsius, 375 F.
  • 6Spread the eggplant fries on a greased baking tray and top them with the bacon rashes
  • 7Fry the fries and bacon crisp and golden in 10 to 15 minutes, in the oven on a baking tray, mix them with some salt if desired
  • 8Place a burger on plates, and serve with fries and bacon
